No, there will not be a second season of Death Note. Despite the immense success and long-lasting popularity of season 1, continuation of the story is not feasible due to the death of the protagonist and key characters.
The 37 episodes of the first season covered the twelve volumes of the manga with the same ending. Even if a season 2 were considered, it would have to follow a new story with different characters.
