In 2055, an artificial intelligence (AI) detonates a nuclear bomb over Los Angeles. Western nations fight AI to save humanity, but New Asia supports it. Joshua Taylor, a soldier, is revealed to be an undercover agent. His wife, Maya, is struck by an attack, and Taylor is led to believe that she is alive and that she can be found if she helps destroy a new artificial intelligence weapon called “Alpha O”.

Taylor discovers a girl with the power to control technology, named Alphie. Despite her orders, he forgives her and seeks out her former commander, Drew. Alphie’s abilities grow and they discover that Maya was wrongly blamed for the previous attack. Taylor and Alphie are captured by New Asia forces, led by Harun. They escape, but Alphie is seriously injured. Taylor finds Maya in a coma being cared for by simulant monks.

Distraught, Taylor takes Maya off life support. American forces capture them and Taylor is forced to fake Alphie’s death. They land on NOMAD, where Alphie stops an attack. Taylor plants explosives, but Andrews, a military leader, tries to stop him. Taylor ejects with Alphie and NOMAD explodes, ending the war. Taylor spends his final moments with a Maya simulator, created by Alphie, while Alphie returns to Earth.
