“The Young and the Restless”, often called Y&R, is a popular American television soap opera created by William J. Bell and Lee Phillip Bell for CBS. It first aired on March 26, 1973, and has been a one-hour program since February 4, 1980. The series is set in the fictional city of Genoa and has been broadcast internationally.
Originally focused on the wealthy Brooks family and the working-class Foster family, the show evolved with new central families such as the Abbotts and the Williamses. Over time, he introduced additional families such as the Newman family, the Barber/Winters family, and the Baldwin-Fishers.
