thanksgiving plot

In 2022, during Thanksgiving in Plymouth, Massachusetts, people prepare for a big sale at the RightMart store. Jessica’s father owns the store and she lets her friends in early. But a crowd outside rushes in, causing chaos, and some people are killed, including the store manager’s wife, Amanda.

A year later, RightMart has another sale and Jessica and her friends see a social media post with their names around a Thanksgiving table. Jessica’s friend Bobby returns to work in Plymouth after being injured in the chaos. Meanwhile, a person dressed as John Carver begins attacking and killing the people involved in the previous Black Friday incident.

Jessica helps the police by providing them with footage of the chaos. Carver continues to hurt people, including Jessica’s friends and even her stepmother. The police try to catch Carver by involving Jessica’s family and friends in a Thanksgiving parade, but it goes wrong and Carver kidnaps them.

The Carver does terrible things, like cooking Jessica’s stepmother alive. Jessica manages to escape and realizes that the town’s sheriff, Newlon, is Carver. He reveals that he was in a relationship with Amanda, who died in the chaos, and so he became Carver to get revenge on her. Jessica livestreams her confession and Bobby saves her from Carver’s attack.

They try to escape, but Carver catches them. Jessica shoots a parade balloon, causing an explosion that burns the Carver. The next morning, Bobby is taken away in an ambulance and Jessica meets up with her friends. The police are unable to find Carver’s remains, but Jessica continues to have nightmares about him attacking her.
