Who is Chito Vera?
Marlon Vera, also known as Chito Vera, is a professional mixed martial artist from Ecuador. He fights in the bantamweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). He was born on December 2, 1992 in Chone, Ecuador, and grew up in a middle-class family with an older sister and a brother. During his youth he became involved in street fights, but at age 16 he began training Brazilian jiu-jitsu in Guayaquil.
Marlon Vera’s first official fight in the UFC was on November 15, 2014, against Marco Beltrán at UFC 180. Unfortunately, he lost that fight by unanimous decision. In his next fight on August 8, 2015, at UFC Fight Night 73, he faced Roman Salazar and won via second-round submission, earning a Performance of the Night bonus. However, he faced a loss in his fight against Davey Grant on February 27, 2016, at UFC Fight Night 84, where he also lost by unanimous decision.

When is Chito Vera’s next fight?
According to UFC CEO Dana White, Chito Vera’s next fight will take place in March with newly crowned bantamweight champion Sean O’Malley. The exact date of the match has not yet been announced.
Marlon Vera was supposed to fight Cory Sandhagen on February 18, 2023, but the fight was moved to March 25 for unknown reasons. Marlon Vera lost that fight in a close decision, and most experts think Sandhagen won.
Later, Marlon Vera was supposed to fight Henry Cejudo on August 19, 2023, but Cejudo was injured and could not fight. Pedro Munhoz took his place and Marlon Vera won that fight by unanimous decision.

Marlon Vera will fight Sean O’Malley, who won the title at UFC 292 in August by knocking out Aljamain Sterling.
In the summer of 2020, Vera, with a record of 23 wins, 8 losses and 1 draw, defeated O’Malley at UFC 252. Over the next few years, he had a record of 5 wins and 2 losses. One of his victories was a unanimous decision over Pedro Munhoz at UFC 292 in Boston.
