Synopsis of The Umbrella Academy

The Umbrella Academy takes place in a universe where 43 women from around the world give birth simultaneously on October 1, 1989, despite showing no signs of pregnancy until labor began. Eccentric billionaire Sir Reginald Hargreeves adopts seven of these children and forms them into a superhero team known as “The Umbrella Academy.” The children are given numbers instead of names, although six of them are later named after their robot mother, Grace: Luther, Diego, Allison, Klaus, Ben and Vanya. Reginald trains six of the children to fight crime, but excludes Vanya from her activities due to her lack of powers.

The first season is set in the present day, where the brothers have grown apart and gone on with their own lives. Luther has lived on the Moon as a half-ape for four years, Allison is a famous actress, Vanya is a violinist, Klaus struggles with drug addiction, Five disappeared sixteen years earlier, Ben has died and now exists only as a ghost who can communicate with Klaus and Diego has become a vigilante. When Reginald dies, the brothers gather for his funeral and Five returns from the future to warn them of an impending global apocalypse. The brothers work together to uncover the secrets of Reginald’s life and prevent the apocalypse.

The second season takes place in Dallas in the early 1960s, with the brothers scattered across different time periods due to the events of the first season. Five arrives in November 1963, just before a nuclear apocalypse related to the assassination of JFK, but with Hazel’s help he manages to travel back in time. While being pursued by Swedish assassins, Five finds his brothers, who have established a new life, and tries to reunite them to prevent a new apocalypse.

In the third season, the brothers discover that their time-traveling actions in the past have created a new timeline, and upon returning to 2019, they are replaced by a new group of superheroes called “The Sparrow Academy”, also adopted by Reginald. . On top of this, they must find a way to stop a kugelblitz from destroying the universe as a result of the grandfather paradox they created by time traveling.
