twang rock band
The Twang is an indie rock band from Birmingham, England, formed in 2004. The original line-up included members such as Phil Etheridge, Jon Watkin, Stu Hartland, Ash Sheehan and Matty Clinton on drums. They gained recognition when NME magazine featured them in an article about musical acts in the West Midlands. Their debut single, “Wide Awake,” came out in 2007, and their first album, “Love It When I Feel Like This,” peaked at No. 3 on the UK charts.
Over the years, The Twang continued to release albums, with “Jewellery Quarter” reaching number 20 on the UK Albums Chart and “10:20” peaking at number 52. The band’s sound evolved and, in 2014, they released “Neon Twang.” The most recent studio album, “If Confronted Just Go Mad” (2019), featured new backing vocalists, Cat Mctigue and Rio Hellyer, and marked the band’s continued journey into the indie rock scene.
