The Matchmakers episode 7 ending explained

In the seventh episode of “The Matchmakers,” Jung-Woo, played by Rowoon, discovers that his chest pain is not triggered by seeing a man and woman together, but by witnessing potential partners. Surprisingly, he feels good with Joo-Daek (Cho Yi-Hyun). Together with Inspector Jung Soon-Goo, Kim O-Bong and Maeng Sam-Soon, they devise a plan to help Lady Ha-Na, who was falsely accused in a murder case involving the Minister of Defense.

Sam-Soon writes a book that reveals the truth and the news spreads throughout the kingdom. In response, Joo-Daek decides to eliminate the writer, not knowing that Sam-Soon is disguised as a man. Joo-Daek initially plans to pose as the male writer and urges Soon-Goo to corner her near a river. Concerned for Joo-Daek’s safety, Jung-Woo takes his place, but the Minister of Defense intervenes and wounds him with an arrow.

When Jung-Woo falls into the river and begins to drown, Joo-Daek, disguised as a man, swims towards him. His hands approach and Jung-Woo confesses, “When I think about it now, I think I already made a decision then. I should… marry Yeo Joo-Daek.” The episode concludes with this touching moment.

The Matchmakers Episode 7 Plot

In episode 7 of The Matchmakers, the K-drama takes an exciting turn when Shim Jung-woo, played by Rowoon, reveals the mystery behind his chest pain. Surprisingly, it’s not just any partner that triggers it, but potential partners. The episode unfolds with Jung-woo and matchmaker Jung Soon-deok, played by Cho Yi-hyun, teaming up for a larger-scale mission.

Amid the usual mission formula, viewers are treated to a mix of action, awkward courtship, and comedy. Characters, including the Crown Prince and Lady Ha-na, undergo new developments, providing a new dynamic to the story. The humor shines as the characters grow and at the same time take unexpected steps backwards.

The plot takes an intriguing turn with the revelation of a potential suitor for Ha-na, although the Crown Prince’s age is surprising. Jung-woo’s newfound ability to identify the source of his chest pain adds a layer of humor, especially considering his apparent disregard for the obvious reason. Speculation that he could be an “Agent of Love” who recognizes predestined pairings adds an element of fun and anticipation to the story.

Overall, Episode 7 promises a delightful mix of romance, comedy, and character revelations, which will keep viewers interested and eager for more.

Matchmakers Episode 7 Review

The Matchmakers episode 7 is probably the best one yet in the K-drama. There is a whole new vibe and we can understand the characters in a different way. The usual mission setup is there, but this time it’s on a larger scale and is exciting to see. There’s action, some awkward attempts at romance, and plenty of funny moments. We even get a hint as to who might be interested in Ha-na, although the Crown Prince seems a bit young.

It’s fun to watch characters grow and then suddenly take big steps backwards. Jung-woo figures out what causes his chest pain, but somehow misses the obvious reason. Maybe Sam-soon is right in saying that her heart races when she sees two single people.

But imagine if it’s because he’s like a “Love Agent” who can tell which two single people should be together. That might explain why he doesn’t get chest pains when other single people are together, like Soon-deok and his brother, or Bu-kyum following Doo-ri. Add a fun twist to the story!
