The Doobie Brothers, an American rock band formed in 1970 in San Jose, California, have been a musical force for more than five decades. Known for their ability to seamlessly navigate various genres, including rock, soft rock, pop, and blue-eyed soul, the band’s flexibility and vocal harmonies have earned them widespread acclaim.
The current line-up consists of founding members Tom Johnston and Patrick Simmons, along with Michael McDonald and John McFee. Over the years the band has undergone line-up changes, with Michael McDonald joining in 1975, bringing a soulful touch to their sound. Despite a temporary breakup in 1982, the Doobie Brothers reunited in 1987 and have continued making music ever since, leaving an indelible mark on the rock and roll landscape.
