About Black Opry
The Black Opry, founded in April 2021 by Holly G., is an American music platform and touring magazine that aims to highlight Black musicians in country music. Holly G., writer and hostess, was inspired by the underrepresentation of artists of color on country radio. In response, she started a website and national tours under the name Black Opry Revue to promote black country music artists.
This initiative was prompted by a study that revealed that less than 1% of artists played on country radio over the past two decades were people of color. Inspired by the Color Me Country podcast and motivated by a racial slur incident involving country singer Morgan Wallen in February 2021, Holly G. seeks to raise awareness and provide opportunities for Black country music performers.
The Black Opry Revue hosted concerts with notable artists and celebrated its one-year anniversary in April 2022 with a party sponsored by CMT at City Winery in Nashville.

The Black Opry Revue Tour 2024
The Black Opry Revue Tour 2024 is a series of concerts scheduled from January 6 to April 6, covering various locations in North America. Organized by the Black Opry, the tour aims to highlight the talents of black artists in musical genres such as roots, Americana, country and folk. The tour features unique lineups for each concert, showcasing a wide range of black musicians.
Tickets for the tour are available in advance for $26, and general tickets are $31, with discounts for seniors of $24 and teens of $13. The event promotes inclusion and diversity in the music industry, supporting black artists. Since its inception in 2022, The Black Opry Revue has gained recognition, participating in notable festivals such as CMA Fest, Newport Folk Fest, and Americanafest.
