The stage began in Bangkok, Thailand, where teams had to head to the airport and then fly 500 miles to Vietnam. They would then take a bus to Can Tho City to pick up the next clue. Some teams experienced delays at the travel agency, while others strategically booked their flights.
Flight issues, including delays and early departures, created an ever-changing race dynamic. The episode included challenges at the Cai Rang floating market, where teams had to assemble a photograph from pieces obtained from vendors who had three types of fruits.
Express passing and deflection options played a crucial role in determining the teams’ rankings. The stage ended with a dramatic finale at Truc Lam Phu’o’ng Nam Zen Monastery, shaking up the rankings and leaving viewers eagerly awaiting the next episode.

Who went home tonight on season 35 of The Amazing Race?
In this episode of The Amazing Race 35, things took an unexpected turn for the teams. While the first two episodes in Thailand were relatively stable, a new location brought significant changes to the game.
Flight issues and a challenging market task allowed lagging teams to move forward, while previously strong teams faced unexpected challenges. At Pit Stop, a surprise twist awaited all teams: no one was eliminated in this episode.
Father and daughter duo Steve Cargile and Anna Leigh Wilson managed to overcome a rocky start when they arrived in Thailand on the last flight. Their determination put them in the lead and they maintained it, finishing the episode in first place. Best friends Joel Strasser and Garrett Smith also had a lucky break with their flights, propelling them to the front of the pack.
On the other end of the spectrum, brothers Liam Hykel and Yeremi Hykel encountered difficulties throughout their day in Vietnam, from navigating the floating market to working with vinyl.
They landed last, but were relieved to know it was a “running on” stage. Couple Jocelyn Chao and Victor Limary, who had secured first place in the first two stages, had problems with the rice paper side of the Detour and ended up at the back of the peloton.
