Supernatural production
“Supernatural” was the brainchild of Eric Kripke, who spent almost ten years developing the series inspired by American urban legends. The show’s conception went through several phases, evolving from an anthology to the final concept of two brothers, Sam and Dean Winchester, hunting supernatural entities. Kripke’s vision of a modern western led to the iconic ’67 Impala being chosen as the brothers’ trusty car.
The series was filmed in Vancouver, British Columbia and, despite initial challenges, gained popularity for its unique storytelling and characters. Kripke served as executive producer alongside a talented team that included McG, Robert Singer and Phil Sgriccia. The series’ success led to its impressive run of 15 seasons, making it the longest-running American live-action fantasy television series.
