At the tender age of 14, Teru Momijiyama, a young Japanese girl, holds the esteemed position of being Japan’s representative heroine. However, her heroine identity is wrapped up in the peculiar name “Timid”, a reflection of her extreme shyness. Teru’s journey as a hero begins when she is chosen to serve her country, a responsibility that requires her to make a public appearance at an amusement park and give a speech.
Unfortunately, her crippling shyness takes center stage and her speech bores the audience to the point of embarrassment, prompting her to hastily exit the stage. Teru’s misfortunes increase when she attempts to rescue passengers from a malfunctioning roller coaster, resulting in serious injuries to a young girl named Iko Koishikawa.
The public blames Teru for his apparent failure to save Iko. This traumatic incident drives Teru into a deep depression, causing him to lose confidence in her abilities and withdraw from her responsibilities as a hero. She remains isolated for an entire month, fighting her own doubts.
It is during this dark period that Teru’s closest friend, the Russian hero known as Spirit, reaches out to offer words of encouragement. The presence of the spirit serves as a ray of hope, helping Teru understand that it is impossible to please everyone and that he must find the strength within himself.
Motivated by her friend’s wisdom, Teru’s attention is drawn to a burning building, where she must face her fears head-on. Summoning all her courage, she transforms into Shy and rushes into hell to rescue a woman and child, marking the turning point in her journey.
After this series of life-changing incidents, Iko is eventually transferred to Teru’s school, seeking proximity to her home to aid her recovery. Grateful for Teru’s heroic actions, Iko expresses her gratitude and the two begin to build a friendship based on mutual understanding and respect.
With new determination, Teru embarks on a mission to become a more confident person and a formidable hero. He joins forces with his fellow heroes from around the world, uniting against the sinister Amarariruku, an evil evil organization that emerged in the wake of global peace following the resolution of the threat of world war.
Amarariruku’s leader, Stigma, harbors ambitions to create an ideal world exclusively for children, setting the stage for an epic battle between good and evil as Teru, now Shy, fights to protect the world from this menacing organization.
