Locked ending explained
At the end of Locked In, things get pretty intense. So the story begins with Katherine, who is trapped in a hospital due to a car accident and can only blink to communicate. She reveals that someone tried to kill her. The movie then flashes back to when all of these problems started. Katherine, who is Lina’s legal guardian, becomes suspicious when Lina marries Jamie, who inherits everything, including a large house called Rowling Manor, from Katherine’s late husband. It turns out that Lina is not happy with her marriage and she begins an affair with a boy named Robert. They plan to kill Jamie and make it look like an accident, so Lina can take control of the family fortune and mansion.
Their plan works and Jamie drowns in a lake when Robert purposely capsizes his boat. Lina threatens to leave Robert, who threatens to reveal his diary where he wrote about hating Jamie and wanting to kill him. Everything comes to a head when Lina sees Katherine kissing Robert and things get really violent.
As Lina flees, Robert and Katherine pursue her. At first, it seems like they both want to hurt Lina. But then we find out that Katherine tried to stop Robert by shooting the tire of her car. When Katherine tries to get Robert to leave Lina alone, he runs over her. The story then flashes back to the beginning of the film, where Nicky, Katherine’s nurse, begins to uncover the truth. Lina, believing that Katherine tried to kill her, gets Robert to help her get Katherine home before the police arrive.
Robert plans to kill Katherine by making it look like she suffered a stroke from an overdose. But just before he can do so, Nicky manages to call Lina and reveal the truth about what happened that night. Katherine confirms it with a blink. Lina asks Robert to let her kill Katherine, but she ends up injecting Robert with drugs and then stabbing him to make sure he doesn’t survive. The police show up at Rowling Manor with Nicky, and the film ends with Lina asking Nicky, “What will you tell them?” We wonder what Nicky will tell the police, and Lina’s fate remains uncertain as the credits roll.
