In 2065, a decade after a nuclear bomb hit Los Angeles, supposedly sent by artificial intelligence (AI), there is an undercover American agent named Joshua. He lives in New Asia with his pregnant wife, Maya. In New Asia, AIs are not banned like in the United States.
One day, American military forces attacked Joshua’s house. There is an explosion and his wife and his AI friends disappear. Five years later, Joshua receives a mission. He is supposed to go to New Asia and find and destroy Nirmata, who is like a god or creator to the AIs there. His bosses tell him that Maya is not really dead. When Joshua arrives in New Asia, he discovers that the so-called “weapon” created by Nirmata is a 6-year-old AI girl named Alphie. Instead of following orders, Joshua decides to protect Alphie because he believes doing so will help him find Maya.
