Whitening plot

The series adapts Tite Kubo’s manga, incorporating main story arcs and introducing other exclusive ones. In Karakura Town, high school student Ichigo Kurosaki becomes a substitute Soul Reaper when Rukia Kuchiki saves him from a Hollow. Initially hesitant, Ichigo accepts the role and discovers classmates with spiritual abilities: the Quincy powers of Uryū Ishida, the protective spirits of Orihime Inoue, and the strength of Yasutora Sado.

When Rukia faces death for a crime framed by former captain Sōsuke Aizen, Ichigo, aided by exiled Soul Reapers Kisuke Urahara and Yoruichi Shihōin, discovers Aizen’s illicit experiments. Aizen intends to use the Hōgyoku to dominate Soul Society. Following Aizen’s escape to Hueco Mundo, Ichigo, trained by the Vizards, faces Espadas and Aizen’s forces to rescue Orihime.

After defeating Aizen and the Espadas, Ichigo sacrifices power to seal Aizen. Later arcs involve Fullbringers and anime-exclusive stories, including Bount, Shūsuke Amagai’s Revenge, Muramasa’s Vendetta, and the Kagerōza Inaba plot, which show Ichigo’s continued journey as a surrogate Soul Reaper.
