YouTube became huge after Google bought it for a lot of money in 2006. Then it started to become more than just a place for videos. People could buy subscriptions to watch without ads. It became a big deal to watch all kinds of things, not just cute cat videos.
YouTube has changed a lot over the years. It got bigger and added things like YouTube Kids and YouTube Gaming. Lady Gaga’s “Bad Romance” was the first video to get 200 million views in 2010. There were changes in the look of YouTube and more people started using it. But YouTube sometimes got into trouble for things like collecting information from children and showing too many ads.
In 2023, CEO Susan Wojcicki said she was leaving and YouTube began warning people using ad blockers that their video player could be blocked. YouTube keeps changing and adding new things all the time.
