ZZ

ZZ Top is a famous American rock band that started in Houston, Texas, in 1969. The band’s original lineup consisted of vocalist and guitarist Billy Gibbons, drummer Frank Beard, and bassist and vocalist Dusty Hill. For 51 years, these three members created ZZ Top’s signature sound, blending styles of blues rock, hard rock, boogie rock and southern rock.

They became known not only for their music, but also for their humorous lyrics and distinctive appearance: Gibbons and Hill were often seen wearing sunglasses, hats, and long beards. The band’s hit singles such as “La Grange” and “Tush” earned them widespread recognition and their live performances were highly acclaimed, making them favorites among rock fans.

In 2021, ZZ Top faced a sad moment when Dusty Hill passed away. Despite the loss, the band continued, honoring Hill’s wishes by hiring his guitar technician Elwood Francis to replace him on bass. Featuring Billy Gibbons on guitars and vocals, Frank Beard on drums and Elwood Francis on bass and vocals, ZZ Top continues to rock the stage, create music and entertain audiences around the world.
