Green Day

Green Day is a California rock band founded in 1987 by Billie Joe Armstrong and Mike Dirnt. Originally known as Blood Rage and later Sweet Children, they found their place in the Bay Area punk scene of the late ’80s and early ’90s at the 924 Gilman Street club in Berkeley.

His early music was featured on Lookout! Records. In 1994, his album “Dookie” became a smash hit, selling more than 10 million copies in the United States. This success, along with bands like Bad Religion and The Offspring, helped bring punk rock to a wider audience in the United States.

While his albums like “Insomniac,” “Nimrod,” and “Warning” didn’t reach the same level as “Dookie,” they were still successful. “American Idiot,” released in 2004, was a rock opera that became popular with younger fans and sold millions of copies.
