Green Day Band
Green Day is a well-known American rock band originating from California’s East Bay in 1987. The band was formed by lead vocalist and guitarist Billie Joe Armstrong, along with bassist and backing vocalist Mike Dirnt. Initially called Sweet Children and previously Blood Rage, Green Day found their place in the Bay Area punk scene of the late ’80s and early ’90s, emerging from Berkeley’s 924 Gilman Street club.
His early musical journey involved independent label Lookout! Records, but it was his major label debut with Reprise Records, “Dookie” in 1994, that marked a significant breakthrough, selling more than 10 million copies in the U.S. Following his breakthrough success, albums such as “Insomniac “, “Nimrod” and “Warning” did not reach the meteoric heights of “Dookie”, but still achieved significant success. His breakthrough moment came with the rock opera “American Idiot” in 2004, which deeply connected with a younger audience and sold millions of copies.
