Dekoboko Majo no Oyako Jijou Plot

In a magical forest, lives a kind-hearted witch named Alissa. One day, she stumbles upon an abandoned human baby, a girl she names Viola. Alissa takes it upon herself to raise Viola as if she were her own. Over the next 16 years, something extraordinary happens: Viola grows much larger than her adoptive mother, to the point that people mistakenly believe that Viola is Alissa’s mother.

This unexpected twist sets the stage for a charming and moving story. It is the story of an unconventional family, where a little witch and her stunning human daughter navigate a unique daily life, full of magic, laughter and the bonds of an extraordinary mother-daughter relationship.

Along the way, they meet a diverse cast of characters, each of whom contribute to the whimsical and charming world they call home. The story beautifully explores the idea that family is not defined by appearances, but by the love and care we share with each other, no matter how different we may seem.

Dekoboko Majo no Oyako Jijou episode 3 summary

Giriko and Luna bring Viola a special magical photo album that shows memories from when they were children. Viola discovers that she turned her childhood hobbies into jobs as herbalists, fortune tellers, and magic item engineers.

This makes Viola wonder about her future career, as her main interests are Alissa and birds. But things take a funny turn when Viola accidentally sees Luna’s peculiar memories involving something called a “masochistic harem,” and Luna and Giriko quickly run away before Alissa can scold them.

Shortly after, Viola falls ill and Phoenix offers to make chicken soup with his immortal body to help her feel better. However, Alissa is not very enthusiastic about the idea. Viola, plagued by fever-induced nightmares that cause real-world problems for Alissa, refuses to sleep. She also begins “ex-spelling”, which is when sick witches release pure magic through vomit. Luckily she smells sweet and disappears.

Phoenix eventually coaxes Viola to sleep, and in her dreams, she recalls memories of her birth mother, although she forgets them upon waking. Viola improves, but Phoenix ends up catching a cold due to her family connection to Viola. Alissa also remembers a time when Viola summoned a water spirit while she was sleeping at the age of 6, which awakened her love for animals and invoked magic.
