Campaign history

Campaign magazine has a fascinating history beginning as the British Printing Corporation’s “World’s Press News.” In the late 1960s, facing challenges, it found new life when Michael Heseltine acquired it for Haymarket. With Maurice Saatchi for the rebrand and Roland Schenk for the design, the magazine was relaunched in September 1968, earning the title “the Bible of British advertising”.

In 2013, Campaign underwent changes, abandoning its large A3 size and launching a paid app on Apple Newsstand. In May 2016, Haymarket consolidated its marketing publications under the Campaign brand, closed Marketing Magazine, Brand Republic and Media Week and introduced Campaign Jobs. The magazine’s journey highlights its adaptability and continued importance in the dynamic realm of advertising and media.
