The black crows

The Black Crowes are a rock band from Atlanta, Georgia, formed in 1984. They have released eight studio albums, four live albums, and a few popular singles. They landed a record deal in 1989 and released their first album, Shake Your Money Maker, in 1990. Their second album, The Southern Harmony and Musical Companion, reached the top of the Billboard 200 in 1992.

They released a few more albums such as America (1994), Three Snakes and One Charm (1996), By Your Side (1999) and Lions (2001), but they did not achieve the same success as the first two. They took a break from 2002 to 2005, then came back, toured, and released Warpaint in 2008, which did well on the charts.

In 2010, they released an acoustic greatest hits album and went on a 20th anniversary tour. They took another break, but returned in 2019 for a tour in 2020 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Shake Your Money Maker. By then, only Chris and Rich Robinson remained from the original lineup.

As of August 2023, the band includes the Robinson brothers, bassist Sven Pipien and new members Nico Bereciartua (lead guitar), Cully Symington (drums) and Erik Deutsch (keyboards). Their latest album, Happiness Bastards, came out in March 2024.

The Black Crowes have sold more than 30 million albums and are considered one of the best hard rock bands. Melody Makers called them “The Most Rock ‘n’ Roll Rock ‘n’ Roll Band in the World” and, in 1990, Rolling Stone readers voted them Best New American Band.
